Afeef merajuk?

This morning as usual, Afeef cried dgn sayunye sampai mengalir2 air mata sbb nk susu. So groggily, I picked him up and laid him beside me to feed him. As he was latching on with closed eyes, Babah came near us sambil cakap, "Haih si cebol ni...tunggula nanti dah besar skit, umur dah setahun setgh, jaga die.." Bile Babah sebut "jaga die" tu terus mata die terbukak luas, mulut masih menyusu, and after finishing his sentence, Babah usap belakang Afeef, astonishingly terus Afeef nangis sayu. He stopped crying and continue menyusu when Babah stopped stroking his back. Aik, anak mama dah faham kene tegur ke?

Afeef's Milestone at 6month and 3 weeks

At this age, Afeef is developing really fast so Mama kene rajin skit update his milestone selalu, haih problem is, Mama is now an acting Project Engineer replacing Aunty Lily who is still on maternity leave, and her workspace is betul2 kt tengah2 bejana, susah betul Mama nak curi2 update blog, haih but I'll try my utmost best.

1) Suke main kiss2 n gomol2 dgn Mama. the game is like this; mule2 Mama kemam2 pipi Afeef yg cebol tu and he will tadah his cheek letting me bite for 3-4 times and he'll cepat2 pusing and bite my cheek back for a while and turn away his face sambil menghulur pipi die pulak so I can kemam again his cebol cheek, after letting 3-4 bites again and quickly turn towards my cheek, returning a few bites on my cheek and so on and so forth. Afeef is so funny!

2) Makin byk vocab. Kalau dulu just suke ckp mamamama or babababab and kalau babble mende pelik2 pn jarang2 la. But now babbles all the time and his babble is soo cute n funny like "Ate-te-te-teehh..Peteh-petehh-abooo-ake-ke-kiahh.." and ends his babble with main air liur pulak..

3) Suke sebut "Momma" more than "Babah". Whenever he's hungry, lonely or crying for attention, he'll cry "mommaa...mommaa..." and if still Mama xlayan or come to him, he will start a more alarming sound "mamamamamamamama....mamamamamama...!" and when I finally showed up slowed down his cry to "Mommaa....." as though expressing his relief upon seeing me. But for the record, this morning die nangis sebut Babah dulu a few times baru Mama...heheh, suke la tu Babah.. :)

4) Dah pandai mengamuk! Haih..susah hati mama, harap2 anak Mama ni bukan pemarah orangnya..pantang xdapat ape die nk, mesti menjerit2 sampai merah padam muka sambil badan dikeras2kan and dilentik2kan. Contohnye, he was pre-occupied with a packet of nestum yg tajam bucunye, when I took the nestum packet from him punyela marah, bg bende lain pn dh xnk. 2nd situation, bile lapar. Part ni mmg xdapek nek nolong. Afeef is such a happy weasel, always smiling walaupun tgh demam 38.8degC. Taaapiii kalau die lapar, mmg xbagi can, selagi xdpt susu selagi tu die akan menjerit. Mcm semlm, 1st time Afeef kene marah dgn Mama. I hate myself for doing so, but I thought to myself, I'm gonna hate myself even more and regret big time if he turns out being a spoilt brat when he grows older. Tapi lepas tu rase sedih sgt sbb marah baby Mama yg sgt cute n innocent ni. Takpe ye syg, it's for your own good too.. :)

TyNgah Afeef Balik for Raya!

How excited I was to know that Kak Ngah is coming home for Raya this year! It was too sudden and unplanned! Just imagine, she YMed me on Thursday, contemplating and asking my opinion whether she should come home and the next 2 days, she's already on the next flight to Malaysia. Tak sangka, dpt jugak Afeef jumpe TyNgah live unplugged.

Afeef's 5 months milestone

Last Saturday was Afeef's 5 months Polio jab and Rotavirus appointment with Dr. R. So as a celebration, I'll list down his milestone as per dated:


1) Pandai sebut Mama and Babah. At first thought it was accidental. But now becoming more specific. When he's hungry


2) Suke main air liur smpi berbuih2 mulut


3) Babah is his Buddy. When he sees Babah he'll smile, then sentil2 lidah then squeal excitedly.

4) He can play by himself and sleep by himself. Leave him alone in the cot for almost an hour or so is no longer a problem. Last week, I left him in the cot coz I had to clean up the room and fold the clothes, he was amusing himself by playing with his two feets and the toys in the cot. After a long while, suddenly it was strangely quiet so i peeked inside the cot only to found Afeef looking very sleepy and his eyelids are half closed is slowly dozing to slumber by himself.

5) Afeef is getting more selective about people.

6) Afeef can now feed his ownself.

Upon seeing his Paed, we requested from Dr R another bottle of Dentinox since the 1st one dh nk abis. Dr R was surprised to hear that Afeef's colic has not settled down yet since he is now 5 months (colic is common for baby aged 3months and below). That makes me worried, is it not common?

Afeef can talk?

Afeef is approaching 5 months, he'll be 5 months this Sunday. At a tender age of 4 months and a half, Afeef has shown some signs that he has had a small library of vocabulary stored in his memory. He's not just cooing  monosyllable words like babababa or mamamama, but he sounds as though he's talking but the word was not yet too clear to be understood like "ammbuu...akeehee..bumbueyee..blabbekh". Afeef is known for his warm and easy-going nature, easy to smile when people agah2..even if a particular person in front of him doesn't pay attention on him, he'll stare at the person sampai org tu tgk die and senyum or tegur and he'll be so excited smpi squealing. He's always in a jovial mood, except when he's hungry, in a second his mood can turn a 180 degree from a happy weasel to a hungry dino hehe. From his easy-going nature, comes his bubbly self. He starts coo-ing at 1 month old, 

Earlier this week, on one sweet morning before going to work, while we were busy preparing Afeef for the day and ourself to work, biasela sambil sibuk2 sambil agah2 die tgh golek2 atas katil. Suddenly Babah die masuk bilik and jenguk die and upon seeing his Babah, Afeef sebut "A-Bahh.." Hubby the ever-positive person thought Afeef dh pandai sebut Babah, while I on the contrary, although was as excited as his Babah and hoping that his Babah was right, left a little doubt that it was a coincidence and impurposed. 

But this morning, I'm beginning to believe that Afeef, probably, can talk at a young age of only 5 months! I was in the shower while Hubby was playing with him on our bed. Upon seeing me walking out of the shower, Afeef said "Maa...." Ape lagi melompat la Babah and Mama die ni excited tgk Afeef mcm dh pndi cakap. And later, while I was busy bersiap2, Hubby masuk bilik and together we heard Afeef said something like "Atokk.." Biar betik? Bijak betul anak Mama and Babah ni..aminn.. :)

Weaning Afeef - Part 3

Happy 10th Birthday to my manja little brother, Imran and a belated wish for my mama on her 48th Birthday! As a double celebration, we've booked for a Buka Puasa at Ancasa Hotel last Saturday that is on Mama's Birthday the 29th August. Susah jugak nk bawak Afeef pergi berbuka kat luar. Afeef is a very active boy, so sitting quietly in a stroller, a bouncer or any confined seats is just not his thing. I wonder how would he finds his new car seat? Entah2 xnak duduk jugak, penat je Babah beli huhu..

Back to the story, as he wants us to carry him (he likes to see the world and absorb as many infos as he could), I had to carry his 8kg being around the buffet area in one arm, while the other arm trying to balance the load of  a ceramic plate yg sgt berat sekali dgn the food loaded on it. Fuhh..mmg bole bermuscle, xpayah susah2 buang duit pegi fitness centre, branak je gerenti bole fit hihi..

Sejak ade anak (baru sorang pun..), there's no such things as having a quiet dinner outside, watching movie peacefully and shopping till hubby drops (hehe!) for hours. When eating outside, it means, makan macam masuk pertandingan makan hotdog, telan je kunyah xpayah, because the time is short and Afeef is crying, no time for savouring the taste of the food. When watching movie, it means, if Afeef shall be around and of course shall nangis out of boredom, bersediala kene kutuk dgn org lain dlm panggung "Apela, bwk baby tgk wayang..bodoh kelubi, dh tau ade anak sibuk nk tgk wayang..duduk je la umah..". When shopping, it means, br masuk 1 kedai Afeef dh start cranky and end up xdpt beli pape and terus balik. Bile fikir xnk bawak Afeef rase guilty pulak sbb mcm keluar enjoy and lupekan anak. So end up bawak jugak. Cume lately je due to H1N1 we didn't bring him out to shopping to minimize the frequencies of him being exposed to the public.

Masuk hari ni, dh 4 hari Afeef x berak. Risaunye Mama..normally Afeef will berak at least twice a day, at most 4-5 times. Banyakkan? Afeef inherits dat (rajin berak, dat is) from Mama and Babah which makes the three of us: Keluarga Berak hehe..

Weaning Afeef - Part 2

Hati mak mane yang tahan tgk anak die kelaparan. Afeef mcm xcukup by just milk feeding. Last two days, luahkan kat my mom psl Afeef mcm dh nk kene start on solid. And the conversation goes like this:

My mama: Bagila makan, I dulu you all semua I start solid at 4 months..

Me: Aikk? Aritu mama ckp jgn sibuk2 nk bagi awal, tunggu till 6 months..bagi organ2 die cukup matured baru bagi..

My mama: Eh bile mase plak I ckp mcm tu?

Me: Ade...sebab tu Aishah tahan xnk bg Afeef solid sbb takut mama marah.

Mama: xpenah la I ckp mcm tu..klu ade mesti I igt..u all semua start 4 months nape plak I xbg Afeef start at 4mths?

Adehh..xkisah la janji Afeef dh bole makan, upon getting greenlight from my mom, meloncat2 rase hati nk bagi Afeef baby cereal. So yesterday lunch time lari KLCC jap cari teat with cross-cut hole for thick feeding. And today before going to work, I gave him a thin mixture of cereal in his FM. Surprisingly (for an unfussy boy like Afeef) he was so upset when he tasted the cereal mixture, mcm kene makan ubat. Padahal Afeef klu makan ubat bukan main suke, siap hisap2 syringe tu mcm botol susu. Maybe he was too hungry and sleepy that he refused other than BM and the teat hole was too big that he can't controlled the feed flow and asik mcm nk tersedak je so he was stressed out.
